When consumers purchase ready-to-serve beverage containers, a deposit is included in the purchase price. By returning eligible containers to Bluenose Bottle Exchange, customers receive a refund while helping support Nova Scotia’s recycling system.
Collected containers are sorted and processed through the province’s recycling network, where materials such as aluminum, plastic, glass, and steel are recovered and transformed into new products. This process helps reduce landfill waste, conserve resources, and protect the environment for future generations.
Whether it's a few bottles from home or bags collected for a community bottle drive, we make returning refundable containers simple, fast, and convenient.
Our team carefully sorts returned containers so valuable materials like aluminum, plastic, glass, and steel can be recovered and recycled properly.
Every container returned helps reduce litter, divert waste from landfills, and support a cleaner, greener future for communities across Nova Scotia.
